About Me

One fateful day in (presumably) the early 2000's, a young girl went with her mother and brother to a used book store in California's Central Valley. The girl came across an old copy of the TokyoPop Sailor Moon manga. Reading the comic in the light of the headlights of vehicles on the freeway, the trajectory of her life would be forever changed by the ethereal art contained within that single comic book.

Hi there! I'm Rinkelle Aurelia, thanks for checking out this blog! This is a place where I can more or less spill whatever thoughts are in my head, hence the subtitle "everything and nothing". I don't have a set purpose for this space aside from a creative journal and sort-of newsletter (but isn't that the point of a blog? to share your thoughts?).

I'm a mostly self-taught digital artist living in California with my partner and our two cats. My main passions are history and magical girls, so naturally I make comics about these things! Well, just the one comic for now, but I've got plans for more in the future.

Oh, the comic? Let me tell you about it.

My main project is Saffron Wave, a historical magical girl webcomic! Set 3000 years ago on ancient Crete, we follow Nephele on her magical journey. Blending history and mythology and set within the fascinating Minoan Civilization, is our outcast heroine up to saving the world?

I've also got some other projects in the works, I'll update this when I actually have something worth sharing. In the meantime you can check out my portfolio to see what other things I've done!
